Peacock's Yamas & Niyamas teaches young audiences to live well and emphasizes the value of giving and taking care of the earth and its bounty of life. The Peacock on the Rock demonstrates giving because children are asked to symbolically "feed" the peacock a few grains of rice each day during the season of Diwali or any other time. This concept develops character in young children by teaching them to care for the others and be open to giving. The Yamas & Niyamas is intended to complement, Peacock on the Rock - A Diwali Tradition but can also be enjoyed as a stand alone book.
